Morocco is growing in popularity as a tourist destination, as it is becoming known as the most accessible way to experience north African culture. Located on the north west edge of the massive continent of Africa, Morocco is a quick flight away from most of Europe.
With it being so easy to get a flight to Morocco, there is no reason for you to not visit here really. This country has beaches, deserts, mountains, big cities, small villages – really something for everyone. The culture is unique, the food is incredible and the prices are affordable.

Reason One: The delicious food
Morocco is located just below the Mediterranean Sea meaning its cuisine uses similar ingredients to those used in Greece, Italy or Spain. The fruit here, for example, is sweeter and juicier than anywhere else – and includes such delights as cherries, dates, figs, oranges and peaches. You can also try unique fruits such as the Cactus fruit – which has a taste likened to both watermelon and passion fruit.

You can also try your hand at haggling, bargaining for a better price, but remember to remain respectful of the craftsman – especially if the piece is handmade.

There are lots of popular coastal towns in Morocco that you can visit to swim, surf or just soak up the sun – Agadir, Essaouira, Mirleft, Safi and Taghazout to name but a few. In fact, the coast in Morocco is great at any time of the year – the surf is awesome in the winter months while the cold Atlantic Ocean will feel instantly refreshing in the summer months.

Reason Five: The Sahara Desert
